Wires, Wires, Wires! (And also handpulls)

9am - 1pm: Wire Riding Level 1 (Beginner)
2pm - 6pm: Wire Riding Level 2 (Intermediate)
2pm - 6pm: Handpulling Intro

Come join one of Seventh Circle’s first wire intensives or handpulling intros! On Sunday, August 18th, we will be hosting three separate classes: two wire-riding intensives and one introduction to handpulling. We ask that students only sign up for one level of wire riding. Check below for info and requirements for each class.

Cancellations up to 24 hours before your session will be refunded minus a $5 processing fee (sorry). No cancellations less than 24 hours before your scheduled session.


Wire Riding Level 1 - Beginner (9am - 1pm)

Overview

  • Wire Riding Level 1 will cover a wide variety of important tools, including:

    • Finding your balance on the line

    • Practicing a variety of commonly encountered handpulls

    • Beginning to incorporate basic choreo into a pull

    • Learning to communicate with your pull team to achieve the gag

  • Maximum 10 students

  • Level 1: $200

  • Students MUST bring a stunt jerk vest that fits. Thigh cuffs are not required.


Wire Riding Level 2 - Intermediate (2pm - 6pm)

Overview

Wire Riding Level 2 will build on the basic wire skills expected from working stunt performers. We will work on more complex entries into pulls, wraps, multi-step wire gags, varied landing situations and other challenges regularly encountered on set. Students will practice communicating with their pull team to achieve these more complicated gags.

Important Info / Requirements

  • Maximum 10 students

  • Level 2: $300

  • Students must be current members of SAG/AFTRA

  • Students MUST bring a stunt jerk vest that fits

  • Thigh cuffs and hong kong harnesses not required, but bring them if you have them.


Handpulling Intro (2pm - 6pm)

Overview

Participants in this class will not be riding wires.
Intro to Handpulling will be a practical, hands-on experience offering students the opportunity to pull for a variety of wire gags. Participants in this class will be pulling performers and should be comfortable lifting an adult’s weight.

Two students will work with one instructor to cover topics including:

  • proper timing for pulls

  • best practices to keep themselves and their performers safe

  • how to effectively communicate with their performer

  • working in conjunction with other pullers

Important Info / Requirements

  • Maximum 4 students

  • Handpull Intro: $250

  • Students in the Handpulling Intro will not be riding lines.

  • Students must be current members of SAG/AFTRA

  • This will be a highly physical class - be prepared to lift performers on a line repeatedly.
